The Day of Potsdam (Tag von Potsdam) was a ceremony held on 21 March 1933 to mark the opening of the new Reichstag after the German federal election and the Reichstag fire. The place (chosen by Hitler and Goebbels) was the center of the old Kingdom of Prussia of Frederick the Great as well as the Second Reich of Otto von Bismarck. The date commemorates the first Reichstag of Imperial Germany held on 21 March 1871.
